The race is an annual event to celebrate St. John Horsfall’s significant contribution to Aston Martin. The race is only open to competitors driving an Aston Martin built prior to WWII .

Car Eligibility:
For any Aston-Martin built before WWII. Each car must comply with circuit racing requirements, if in doubt please contact Ecurie Bertelli who will assist.
In order to be eligible to compete for the St. John Horsfall Trophy and other Club Trophies competitors must be members of the AMOC.
The race in 2025 will be run at the Bentley Drivers Club meeting at Silverstone on August 9th. It will be subject to MSA regulations and in accordance with the regulations of the Bentley Drivers Club supplementary regulations posted on their website.
Practice and race will be 15 minutes each. The race will be a scratch race with a sealed handicap determined by an independent MSA handicapper.
Should there be insufficient entries the organisers reserve the right to invite other pre-war cars to compete in order to make the race financially viable for the AMOC.
Competitors will also have the ability to enter the BDC Pre War race should they wish to for an additional entry fee as stated on the BDC website.
Competitor eligibility
All drivers must hold a current MSA competition licence on National B status or above, or other acceptable National equivalent.
Handicapping
Sealed handicap will be determined by an independent MSA appointed handicapper. Competitors may be asked to supply evidence of dry lap times, consideration will also be given to practice times on the day.
Competitors are reminded MSA 2025 reg Q12.7 and particularly the 5% sandbagging rule.
Awards
Garlands and awards for first place on scratch will be awarded, glass tankards for first, second and third are expected to be awarded at the BDC annual prizegiving . The winner on handicap will be awarded the St. John Horsfall Trophy. Awards will be made at the end of the race and/or at a presentation ceremony after the race. Further AMOC awards may be made depending on the final number of entries.
